IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!!

Unfortunately, Ed Wilcox, the inventor of the Incredibow, passed away in January 2008, and was followed in April 2008 by his wife Carolyn.
Their daughter Heidi is planning to continue the business, but as you can imagine
it is taking her time to reorganize and move forward.

If you want current information about the availability of Incredibows, please
email Heidi at musicblademan@yahoo.com
Also check for news at the Incredibow Group on Yahoo

I do not have any back stock (I am a musician, not a storefront),
and will not be taking any orders for bows until I hear that
production is back to a faster pace. Thanks for your patience.

6 Incredibows

When I first looked at these I thought "this must be a joke or a scam - how can a bow this cheap, made by a musical saw player, be any good?"

I was planning to buy a high-end carbon fibre bow for about $800, but hadn't yet ordered it. So I went to the Incredibow Group on Yahoo to read what people were saying about their experiences. I found people of various backgrounds having thoughtful discussions and providing feedback to the maker about what worked well, what could be improved, etc.

Ed Wilcox, the designer and manufacturer, seemed very sincere about his guarantee and return policy. So I figured that for the price it was worth trying a violin bow.

I now use an Incredibow for every Gobshites gig, because:

  • The Irish Punk playing was causing my newly-rehaired CodaBow to break 5-6 hairs every night. Aside from a couple of loose hairs I clipped off, the Incredibow hairs never break.
  • The artificial hair creates much less noise/hiss when drawn across the strings.
  • Using their Featherweight bow (35 gms vs 60 gms for a standard bow) I can play all night and do fancy high-speed licks without getting tired.
Here are some FAQs:

1. What is the hair made of?  NOT horsehair!  Man made hair designed for strength and wear resistance. Small diameter, over 200 hairs on each bow. Manufacturer doesn't tell us the exact chemical composition. We believe it's a type of nylon compound.

We recently talked with a professional bluegrass musician who uses Incredibow every day and on all the shows; he hasn't broken even one hair in a full year!

2. What is the stick made of?  Stick is a hollow tapered tube made of a composite of graphite fiber and epoxy resin.  Sometimes referred to as "CF" (carbon fiber) stick.  This particular stick will not fatigue or warp.  And mated with this special hair, the specific tension is retained for an indefinite time.  The stick is available in many different colors or as plain graphite.  The colored "skin" is a durable, long lasting vinyl or PVC film which has a manufacturer's warranty for at least 6 to 8 years in outdoor weather.

3. What is the frog and rubber covering made of? The frog and tip wedge are made of plastic covered with several layers of a vinyl rubber material designed for comfort, good gripping, good appearance and long wear.

I'm not going to reproduce their entire website -
you can visit Incredibow.com yourself.

BUT... When you've read up on all of Ed's latest news and think you might like to try a bow, COME BACK HERE and talk to me. I am an official Incredibow reseller, and will give you a good deal on the price.

(price list removed for now - see notice at top of page)
